It sure has been a cold stretch in January but thankfully the weather is supposed to warm up which also means that we have our first full five day week in quite a while.
As one student mentioned last week, the plans written on this website don't always go as fast as planned. It is often the case that as we move through the week we find that some lessons need more attention and practice than the others. For instance, last week we took time to look at real data provided by the Environmental Quality Institute in Asheville to create and analyze scatterplots. I will just make sure to continue communications in the classroom about where we are going in Math 1.
Here is the plan for this week:
Monday- Check in day- (review over scatterplots and how to find the line of best fit with calculators), Quizlet, Sumdog, check grades on Jupiter
Tuesday- Quiz over 5.7 (skipping 5.8- not in the SCOS), a look at residuals
Wednesday- Intro to Chapter 6- 6.1 Solving Systems by Graphing
Thursday- 6.2 Solving Systems Using Substitution
Friday- 6.3 Solving Systems Using Elimination
HW- New report from EQI, analyze 2 sets of data from VWIN, Workbook 6.1 page 171-172 1-30 even
